scrap your crap

here is a layout i did for the challenge over at syc. you had to use sheer embellishments and/or transparencies. i didn't journal because for me it tells its own story. only karen would understand because she was there ;)

happy valentine's day!

my husband has planned a quit, romantic, peaceful (no children) night in ft. worth for us tomorrow. so today i tried to get the house cleaned because his mom is coming to stay with the kids. well, by noon i was feeling like crap! yep, i'm sick again!

about 45 minutes ago he ran to walgreen's to get me some cold medicine so i could sleep tonight and he came back with this...

i love him!

thanks babe!

back on track

this is for SYC.
it has been awhile since i sat down to scrap but i feel the scrap bug nibbling at me. so i decided to start with my favorite challenge site. i think this is the first page i've ever done without a picture on it. this year we spent so much money on school clothes that i wanted to do a page about it. i should have taken a pic of the girls while we shopped but i didn't think about it until after we were done :(
i'll be back with more....

back

from the land of no scrappin! i finally got a chance to scrap last night. gosh i think it has been three weeks since i last made a layout! this is for syc. and there is some serious crap in this one. the pumkin, the paper, the "boo crew" die cut and that little circle prong thing that was a pain in the butt to use. (i just threw the rest of them out!)

and here is "my #19" at her first jr. high game. they didn't win but she did awesome! i was so proud! and the shorts that i had to go hunt down and pay twenty five bucks for....waste. the school ended up providing them. i wish they would make up their minds before i flushed my money down the toilet! anywho, this was more of a scrimmage. a test to see what team the coaches want them on.

now i'm off to take laura gale to buy some new bedding for her bed. the furniture guys said they would replace the furniture sunday. they better! my house is such a wreck! everything is in the living room. i can't stand the chaos! everything is out of place. lg slept in the living room on just the mattress last night. miranda did the same in her room. so i just have to have some patience!

while i wait

on my pics to upload to walgreens (which takes a REALLY long time btw) i thought i might as well post something. yesterday my 12 yr old asked me when she was going to be able to wear make up. well NEVER i thought. but she is going into jr. high next month. did i just say next month, crap! where did the summer go? anywho, i let her experiment with my make up. all on her own. didn't help at all. she did a pretty good job. but to see my baby with eyeliner on... :(
when her dad got home from work we were talking in the kitchen, miranda walks in, he looks at her, he didn't say a word he just went into the bedroom and shut the door. poor miranda thought she was in trouble. he came out about 5 mins later and apologized to her. he said she looked very pretty but that he wasn't expecting that. he was in a little bit of shock. here is a pic of her.
the picture does not do her justice. she has a whole lot more on than it seems! we will have to work on it a bit. but enough of that business...no more growing up!

here are a couple of challenges i did today...

oops!

is right! not the shorts but this layout. have you ever started a page and you have this great idea in your head. and your so excited to start. well that's how i felt with this challenge. it is not at all what i wanted. i kept telling myself to WALK AWAY FROM THE PAGE! but of coarse i didn't. i just kept adding things and painting and adding. all the blue paper is where i had to cover up mistakes! i really hate it. but here is my syc challenge...

this is miss kimber on the 4th. she was jumping off the back of a pick up truck and her shorts got caught. i'm giggling right now because it was so dang funny. she was hanging there by her shorts. with her little legs just swinging around. every time she moved it would rip more. poor thing. i shouldn't laugh. she is only five but she was so embarrassed, she ran to the bathroom crying. i shouldn't tell anyone this but i just have to... when she was still out side i checked to make sure she wasn't hurt or bleeding. well i thought i saw some blood. when we got inside, i looked again...it wasn't blood...let's just say she didn't wipe to good after she went potty. ewwww tmi, i know! but i couldn't stop laughing. gotta love her!

anywho, have to finish cleaning. sil and her family are coming for the weekend. i had to put up my scrap stuff so we could have a table to eat on. so that means no scrappin' till sunday! :(

summer days

ARE KILLING ME! i can't get my kids to play outside. "it's to hot" they say. are you kidding me! they have lived in texas all their life, get over it already! the only way i can get them to go out is if i let them play in the water hose. that's fine maybe one day a week, but hello can you say water bill. my hubby told me not to worry about it, but he hasn't got the first summer bill yet.

anyway, kimber's soccer camp started today. it's from 9-11. so i thought i would drop her off, watch for awhile then head down the street to the gym for a quick 30 min cardio workout. NOT! i can't trust that little toot for nothing! i get to the gym, (can't do much but walk really, really slow because if i break a sweat that would cause my wrist to sweat and since i can't change the dressing til monday it would stink more than it already does) ok back on track...about 20 minutes after i started i get a phone call from a parent that is up at the field where i left kimber. she tells me kimber doesn't really "feel" like playing soccer, "it's to hot". so i go up there, make her finish and the whole time she is giving the coaches "mean" looks and being tacky to the other kids. since dad is working from home today, i let him handle it. this is far from the first time she has done something like this. ahhhh! she is so strong willed!

on to a happier subject...scrappin! since i can't do much around the house with a bum hand, i've been doing some challenges. here is my scrap your crap challenge...

i must admit this was hard, i've never been a tag person. so i had to dig for these. since i can't write, miranda helped out with the journaling. bless her heart, she has been awesome this past week. cooking, cleaning, brushing kimber's teeth and even cleaning up puppy poop!
